Split into groups of 4
All groups are given 4 plastic cups, some soil and 4 pea of bean seeds. 1)Fill 3 cups half full of soil. Place seed in soil and cover with more soil. 2)Place a seed in a cup with no soil ASK: What do all these seeds need to grow? What happens if the seeds don’t get these four things? Do you think we can see if this is really what happens?
1)Place 1 soil cup in an airtight container in a sunny spot. Water this plant 2)Place 1 soil cup in a dark cupboard. Water this plant 3)Place 1 soil cup in a sunny spot. NO water for this plant. 4)Place seed cup in a sunny spot. Water this plant.
Students divide a piece of paper into 4. In each section they draw what they thing will happen after 1 week. Clean up |
